dated Paris 5th June inst we have received from M. Jean

Audinet of the Compagnie Generale D'Extreme-Orient.

K. Audinet's Company does a considerable business

with our friends Hesers, Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd. of

Hongkong, and is well known to us.

You will see from M. Audinet's letter that the

Tribunal of Commerce or Lyons requires proof from him that

Melchers & Co. of Hongkong and China is a German firm, and

we beg leave to request that you will be so obliging as to

issue a certificate that the fim of Melchers & Co. of

Hongkong and China has been liquidated in Hongkong as

German firm.
